"Prior to awarding the contract to Palatial Homes, there were four main criteria we based our decision on:

 

Price - Whilst price was not necessarily our main criteria, naturally we wanted to know that your price was competitive and accurately reflected our requirements for quality and workmanship. Whist your price was not the cheapest, we were certainly satisfied that you had covered the entire scope of works and that the chances of variations or other surprise costs had been eliminated to the extent that you were able to do so.

 

Experience - It was a “must have” requirement for us that the principal of the building company we selected was a carpenter himself. It turned out that it was a great advantage given that over the twelve month construction period, we always had a director at the site ensuring progress was maintained.

 

Quality - From our perspective this was the most important factor for us determining the builder. We had invested a significant sum into the architectural drawings and were certain about the selection of finishes. It was critical that the builder that we selected, executed the drawings and specification exactly as described in the documentation. Our architect also shared the same passion for the outcomes and he is delighted with the finished product.

 

Attitude - Our final criteria was an understanding that we would be working closely with someone over the next twelve months and we wanted that relationship to work. At the appoint of awarding the contract, it’s always easy to be confident that the process will run smoothly. However as we know with building, that is almost never the case. Whilst we had a number of challenges with the building, neighbours and weather conditions, we can honestly say that we always felt that the work that was being completed was in our best interest at all times. Your integrity and honesty throughout the process is something you should feel very proud of. Minimal problems after construction were always fixed with a call and you were only too happy to help out, always going above and beyond the call of duty, even to the extent of helping us move in.

 

We have been in the property development and building industry for many years and didn’t have any expectations of the process being as smooth as it was. To achieve such a high level of quality within the time frame you committed to is a testament to your company and the team you lead.
